Turkish Ambassador to Bangladesh Ramis Sen reiterated his country’s commitment to support Bangladesh’s Interim Government in its reform initiatives.
He made this remark during a meeting with Foreign Secretary Md Jashim Uddin at the Foreign Ministry today (23 September), reads a press release from the ministry.
During the meeting, the envoy handed over a letter from the Deputy Foreign Minister of Türkiye, Dr Nuh Yilmaz, addressed to Jashim, congratulating him on his appointment as Foreign Secretary.
The ambassador recalled the recent telephone conversation between the Turkish President and Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser, reinforcing the Turkish government’s commitment to extend cooperation to Bangladesh’s interim government.
The two sides discussed the Turkish government’s potential assistance for the medical treatment of students and participants who were injured during the Anti-Discrimination Movement.
Both the Foreign Secretary and the Turkish Ambassador expressed satisfaction with the current progress of bilateral engagements between the two friendly countries and emphasised the importance of enhancing the volume of bilateral trade.
The Turkish Ambassador also informed the Foreign Secretary about the activities of a Turkish delegation that delivered humanitarian assistance to flood-affected people in Bangladesh.
The Foreign Secretary expressed appreciation for Türkiye’s humanitarian gesture towards the flood victims in Bangladesh.
