Timor-Leste foreign minister meets honorary consul, discusses bilateral trade

A meeting between Timor-Leste’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Bendito dos Santos Freitas and Timor-Leste Honorary Consul in Bangladesh Kutubuddin Ahmed was held at a hotel in Dhaka today (15 December). 

During the meeting, discussions were held on various issues, including bilateral trade and investment.

Timor-Leste’s foreign minister and his delegation urged Kutubuddin Ahmed, former president of BGMEA and MCCI, to assist in promoting business investment and trade growth.

In response, Kutubuddin Ahmed highlighted the potential for cooperation between the two nations in industries such as textiles, garment manufacturing, real estate, construction, ceramics, and aviation.

He emphasised that through bilateral trade and development partnerships, Bangladesh can play a significant role in Timor-Leste’s progress while benefiting from regional trade and investment opportunities.
