Following acts of vandalism and assaults on Sunday, the St Gregory’s High Faculty and Faculty in Outdated skool Dhaka has closed indefinitely and the lottery for admission to Nursery and Class 1 for the 2025 academic year has also been postponed.
“Primarily basically based on the choice of the college’s governing physique and after reviewing the hot field, all classes, tests, and office activities of the Morning Shift, Day Shift, and Faculty Portion will stay suspended until additional undercover agent,” reads the announcement undercover agent issued by the institution on Monday (25 November).
“Cleaning and repairing the institution is of utmost importance and will grab time. Standard operations will resume as rapidly because the topic is favourable,” the undercover agent added.
One other undercover agent concerning the suspension of the admission lottery stated, “The scheduled lottery and admission dates for the 2025 academic year for Class 1 (Bangla Version) and Nursery (English Version) at St Gregory’s High Faculty and Faculty were postponed until additional undercover agent for specific reasons. The revised time desk shall be presented later.”
Earlier on Sunday afternoon (24 November), vandalism and assaults were applied at St Gregory’s High Faculty and Faculty in stutter against an assault on one more academic institution in Outdated skool Dhaka.
Teachers of St Gregory’s High Faculty and Faculty reported that classrooms, lecturers’ rooms, and the canteen were vandalised for the length of the assaults.
This closure follows identical selections by Kabi Nazrul Authorities Faculty and Authorities Shaheed Suhrawardy Faculty in the capital.
The unrest started after college students of Dr Mahbubur Rahman Molla Faculty protested at National Clinical Faculty and Authorities Shaheed Suhrawardy Faculty on Sunday, alleging the demise of a student, Abhijit Howlader, as a result of scientific negligence.
Intensive vandalism and looting took place for the length of those incidents.
On Monday (25 November), college students of Authorities Shaheed Suhrawardy Faculty and Kabi Nazrul Authorities Faculty launched retaliatory assaults on Dr Mahbubur Rahman Molla Faculty in Jatrabari.
At some level of the assaults, diverse gear and affords from the college were taken away. Clashes erupted between college students from the attacking institutions, college students of Dr Mahbubur Rahman Molla Faculty, and residents.
Eyewitnesses and associated sources confirmed that the assaults on Dr Mahbubur Rahman Molla Faculty were in retaliation for the day gone by’s incidents.
