Sri Lanka’s election rate formally supplied on Sunday Marxist chief Anura Kumara Dissanayaka the winner of the presidential election, defeating incumbent Ranil Wickremesinghe.

The rate said on its internet residence that Dissanayaka, 55, won the presidency with 42.31% of the vote at Saturday’s election, pushing opposition chief Sajith Premadasa to 2d space and Wickremesinghe to a miles away third.

Dissanayaka is attributable to be sworn in on Monday.
