One in all the victims who sustained significant burn injuries in an explosion at SN Corporation ship-breaking yard in Chattogram’s Sitakunda died on the technique to Dhaka on Saturday (7 September).
The final seven seriously injured had been admitted to the Sheikh Hasina Nationwide Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgical operation.
The deceased used to be identified as Mohammad Ahmad Ullah, 38, the protection manager of the yard.
The final seven injured are Md. Jahangir Alam,Forty eight, Abul Kashem, 39, Barkat Ullah, 23, Anwar Hossain, forty five, Khairul Islam, 21, Al-Amin, 23, and Habib, 35.
Nazmul Hossein, secretary of the Bangladesh Ship Breakers and Recyclers Affiliation confirmed the death to The Industrial Commonplace on Sunday morning and stated, “Ahmad Ullah, the protection manager of the yard, died on the technique to Dhaka final evening around 10:30pm. The opposite seven injured were admitted to the neatly being facility.”
In the period in-between, the Ministry of Switch (MoI) has ordered the suspension of SN Corporation’s operations till extra explore. The MoI has also fashioned a committee to analyze the incident.
A letter signed by Sanjoy Kumar Ghose, deputy secretary of the MoI, on Saturday, notified that the yard’s operations would remain suspended till extra explore.

Earlier on Saturday (7 September) at around 11:40am, an explosion occurred in the pump dwelling of a tanker ship when workers had been performing slicing operations in the Tentultala articulate of Sonaichari Union in Sitakunda upazila.
An whole of 12 other folks sustained significant injuries in the explosion, eight from burns and 4 from blast-linked injuries.
They had been rescued and admitted to the burn unit of Chittagong Clinical College Smartly being facility (CMCH). As the condition of eight of the injured worsened, they had been sent to Dhaka for better treatment.
