The weapons have been traced to Jannat Ara Henry, a mature member of parliament for Sirajganj-2, and her husband, Shamim Talukder Labu.

Consistent with officer-in-rate (OC) Humayun Kabir of Sirajganj Sadar police scheme, the discovery was once made on the morning of 8 September in Fulkocha village when locals on the mosque seen the firearms and promptly alerted the authorities.

Upon receiving the tip-off, police arrived on the scene and recovered two shotguns, one in all which was once extremely sophisticated, alongside with 16 rounds of ammunition and two magazines, said OC Kabir.

An investigation confirmed that the shotguns belonged to the mature MP and her husband. Nonetheless, OC Kabir renowned that the shotguns’ licenses had been revoked after the couple failed to renounce them by the government-mandated lower-off date of 3 September.

A case has been filed at Sadar police scheme relating to the incident.
