Two market monitoring teams of the Ministry of Commerce today (9 October) fined Tk12,500 during separate drives in the city.
The teams conducted the drives at Mohammadpur Kitchen Bazar and Fakirapool Kacha Bazar and fined several traders for irregularities.
A team led by Deputy Secretary of the Commerce Ministry Jannatul Ferdous conducted a drive at Mohammadpur Kitchen Bazar and fined several traders Tk12,500 for not hanging the price list properly and other irregularities.
Another team led by Senior Assistant Secretary Amit Deb Nath conducted a drive at Fakirapool Kacha Bazar and checked the buying and selling prices of different essential products.
The team informed that the prices of eggs and onions have decreased slightly and insisted that the traders must hang the updated price list of chicken, rice potato, onion and other products.
