The Detective Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police today (6 September) arrested historical atmosphere minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury from the capital’s Gulshan location.
DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Talebur Rahman confirmed the matter to The Enterprise Frequent.
“There are so a lot of cases against Saber. However, it has no longer yet been confirmed all the design by which case he would be proven arrested,” Talebur said.
Since the ouster of the Sheikh Hasina-led Awami League government on 5 August after the student-led July uprising, at least 47 prime-level officials in conjunction with advisers, ministers, members of parliament, historical IGPs of police, and influential leaders of the Awami League bask in been arrested.
Saber Hossain Chowdhury became once a historical member of parliament representing the Dhaka-9 constituency from 2008 to 2024.
He’s also a historical president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board.
He served as deputy minister of the Ministry of Ports and Transport and, later, as deputy minister for Local Authorities, Rural Pattern and Cooperatives all the design by 1999-2001.
In October 2001, Saber became once appointed as political secretary to President of Bangladesh Awami League Sheikh Hasina, who became once then the leader of the opposition in parliament.
He became once appointed as particular envoy for Local weather Alternate on 12 June 2023 by then prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
He served as the Ambiance, Forest and Local weather Alternate minister from January 2024 to August 2024.
