'Robbers' storm Rupali Bank's Keraniganj branch, hold staff hostage: RAB

A community of different folks suspected to be robbers have entered the Rupali Monetary institution Jinjira branch in the capital’s Keraniganj this afternoon, in response to the Fast Circulate Battalion (RAB).

Confirming the incident, Media Officer of RAB-10 Tapash Karmaker urged The Change Long-established, “About 3-4 teams of RAB have long gone there. We called for help from the military too.”

“We stumbled on out from locals that some armed men entered the financial institution after lunch and took the financial institution staffers hostage. The suspected robbers also shut the collapsible gate of the constructing,” he added.

The community entered the branch, positioned in Chunkutia Pakapul rental of South Keraniganj in the capital, at around 2pm.

Police have surrounded the financial institution, alongside the elite power, to nab the robbers and rescue the hostages, acknowledged Pizus Sarker, SI and responsibility officer of South Keraniganj Police Field.

The robbers are aloof interior, he acknowledged, including, “Alternatively, the [rescue] operation has no longer yet commenced.”
