Workers of a ready-made garment (RMG) factory in Gazipur’s Jirani dwelling today (5 October) staged a demonstration on the Chandra-Nabinagar avenue, anxious attendance bonus, tiffin allowance, and annual slide away pay, Industrial Police acknowledged.
Spherical 9am, RMG workers of Irish Fashion Ltd blocked the Chandra-Nabinagar avenue adjoining to the factory, causing visitors congestion in both instructions.
“The avenue became blocked for over two hours. After negotiations with the staff, they had been cleared from the avenue,” Gazipur Industrial Police Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Deepak Chandra Majumdar told The Industrial Standard.
“Attributable to this reality, visitors returned to not novel on the Chandra-Nabinagar avenue round 4pm,” the ASP added.
Sarwar Alam, superintendent of police (SP) of Gazipur Industrial Zone-2, acknowledged no labour unrest became reported anyplace else in the district till 2pm with the exception of for one factory in Jirani.
“Eight factories in the district, which had been previously closed for diverse reasons, remained closed today. We’re working to manufacture obvious overall safety in the industrial dwelling,” he added.
The SP further acknowledged, “However, workers of various factories in Chandona, Vogra, Itahata, Konabari, and Chandra areas of Kaliakair upazila reported for work in the morning no matter light rain from 8am.
“Industrial police, navy, and BGB are patrolling to support law and account for in the industrial dwelling.”
