The pineapples produced in Madhupur Garh space of Tangail had been recognised as a Geographical Indication (GI) product.
The Geographical Indication Unit of of the Department of Patents, Designs and Emblems (DPDT) issued the certificates of recognition on 24 September.
“GI recognition of conventional products of the country is a truly mighty to pork up Bangladesh’s say in worldwide change,” Madhupur UNO Mirza Jubair Hossain told the media.
In holding with the Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) in Tangail, Madhupur is a key space for pineapple cultivation within the country, producing a most fundamental amount of pineapples valued at Tk700 crore every year.
