One dead as oil tanker catches fire in Chattogram

One died after a fireside engulfed an oil tanker of Bangladesh Transport Corporation (BSC) on the outer anchorage of Chattogram Port all around the early hours on the present time (5 October).

The fire incident took enviornment around 12:50am. It took four hours for the port authority, Flee Guard and the navy to ship the flames under adjust.

“We got the facts of fire after the crew of MV Banglar Saurav known as 999. Some crew jumped into the sea, and had been rescued by fishing trawlers,” said Kofil Uddin, mobilising officer of Fire Carrier and Civil Defence’s Chattogram unit.

“Later, the navy and Flee Guard ships rescued Forty eight sailors of the ship. On the opposite hand, a crew named Sadek died while undergoing treatment,” Kofil added.
