The Government of Bangladesh has formed a National Review Committee to examine contracts made under the Quick Enhancement of Electricity and Energy Supply (Special Provisions) Act, 2010 (Amended 2021).
The committee will investigate any allegations of corruption related to the country’s electricity and energy production and supply agencies.
According to a public notice issued by the Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources, individuals with evidence or information regarding corruption under the aforementioned contracts can submit their complaints to the committee via email ([email protected]) between 4 October and 31 October 2024.
The committee will follow up with complainants, and contact accused individuals or institutions for further actions, if required.
The notice further stated that the committee will actively seek information from relevant institutions engaged in electricity and energy production and supply, contacting them directly as part of its investigation efforts.
Television channels have been requested to broadcast this announcement in a scrolling format as a public service.
