Nasreen Awal appointed Mongolia’s honorary consul general

Nasreen Fatema Awal, a renowned businesswoman and the founding president of the Women Entrepreneurs Association of Bangladesh (WEAB), has been appointed as the honorary consul general of Mongolia to Bangladesh.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the approval of the Mongolian Consular Commission, confirmed her appointment, said a press release.

Nasreen is the wife of Abdul Awal Mintoo, former president of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and vice chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

She has previously served as an honorary consul of Mongolia.

In August 2008, Mongolia appointed her as its honorary consul to Bangladesh.

Mongolia, home to the legendary Genghis Khan who established the largest land empire in history, spans 1.5 million square kilometres—almost 10 times the size of Bangladesh.

Despite its vast size, it has a population of just 2.38 million, making it one of the most sparsely populated countries in the world, with only 1.5 people per square kilometres.
