Bangladesh Meteorological Department predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers today (9 October) in most parts of the country for the next 24 hours.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country”, according to a Met Office weather forecast that begins from 9am this morning.
Monsoon trough runs through Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across the central part of Bangladesh.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate over North Bay.
The country’s maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded at 35.5 degrees Celsius at Sayedpur and the minimum temperature today was recorded at 23.5 degrees Celsius at Netrakona.
The highest rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am today was recorded at 50 millimetres (mm) at Netrakona.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
