Maulana Saad followers to vacate Ijtema grounds, government to take control

Followers of Tablighi Jamaat chief Maulana Saad Kandhalvi hold announced their decision to vacate the Bishwa Ijtema grounds in Tongi, Gazipur, following a lethal conflict that left two of us pointless and loads of injured.

In the wake of the lethal conflict on the Bishwa Ijtema grounds in Tongi, Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury convened an emergency meeting with all parties concerned.

After attending the meeting with the advisers, Reza Arif, a follower of Maulana Saad, announced, “Muslims combating among themselves is unacceptable. We are leaving the grounds. Any longer, the authorities will rob control of the dispute.”

The meeting became as soon as called on the Secretariat this afternoon with Advisers Adilur Rahman Khan, Nahid Islam, Hassan Ariff, and AFM Khalid Hossain in attendance, among others, alongside some followers of Tablighi Jamaat’s Maulana Zubayer Ahmed and Maulana Saad Kandhalvi of India.

At spherical 3 am this day (18 December), two of us had been killed and loads of injured in a bloody conflict between the 2 groups over occupying the Bishwa Ijtema subject in Tongi, Gazipur.

After attending the meeting, Reza Arif, a follower of Maulana Saad, appealed to the opposing team, asserting, “We request the opposite facet to also saunter away the grounds peacefully.”

Per the violence, a mountainous series of military personnel, police personnel, RAB and BGB members had been deployed across the Ijtema flooring along side diverse armoured vehicles.
