Mashrafe among 595 sued over attack on student protests

Worn national cricket captain and Narail-2 MP Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has been sued in a case alongside with 594 others, in conjunction with his father, Golam Mortaza Swapan, over an assault on the Anti-Discrimination Student Trudge on 4 August.

The case became filed at Lohagara Police Blueprint final evening (9 December), said Officer-in-Price (OC) of Lohagara Police Blueprint Md Ashiqur Rahman this day.

The diverse accused consist of district leaders of the Awami League and Chhatra League, among others.

Kazi Md Yajur Rahman Babu, chief organiser of the Narail district unit of the motion, filed the case naming 295 other individuals alongside roughly 300 unnamed persons.

The accused, linked to the Awami League and its mates, implemented the assault on 4 August. The incident reportedly occurred at the C&B Intersection in Lohagara upazila at some level of a programme organised by the college students, Babu alleged.

In step with the case assertion, 15-20 college students, in conjunction with the plaintiff, were injured as the attackers archaic machetes, bamboo sticks, and iron rods. The attackers also allegedly detonated explosives to disperse the college students.

Investigations were underway, said the OC.
