The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained a suspected smuggler with 19 gold bars, payment about Tk5 crore, weighing roughly 4.6 kilograms at the Amrakali check submit in Benapole.
The detainee used to be identified as Mohammad Mahfuz Mollah, 26, hailing from Narail.
The BGB personnel, acting on a tip-off, searched a passenger bus heading from Jashore to Benapole. Mahfuz used to be came throughout hiding the gold bars, made of 24-carat gold, wrapped in a gloomy fabric around his waist.
Later, he used to be detained after he boarded a bus and the gold bars payment over Tk 4.61 crore were seized.

Lt Col Saifullah Siddique, commander of the 49 BGB Battalion, talked about there has been an effort to curb the smuggling of gold, treatment, and international currencies at the Amrakali check submit by design of enhanced intelligence operations and stricter inspections.
The gold bars were deposited with the Jashore treasury, he added.
