BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has criticised West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s remarks about sending UN peacekeepers to Bangladesh, calling it an instantaneous menace to the nation’s independence and sovereignty.
In a message despatched to the media this day (2 December), the senior BNP leader demanded her rapid withdrawal of the assertion.
Fakhrul, who is for the time being in London to meet celebration appearing chairman Tarique Rahman to keep in touch about political and celebration issues, said, “Mamata Banerjee’s advice to ship peacekeeping forces to Bangladesh poses a grave menace to our independence and sovereignty. Fakhrul brushed off allegations of communal disharmony in Bangladesh as “baseless”.

Citing Indian media reports that Mamata’s assertion comes following the arrest of feeble ISKCON leader Chinmoy Krishna Das, Fakhrul also raised considerations about ISKCON’s actions in Bangladesh, describing them as “suspicious and a menace to the nation’s independence and steadiness.”
