Madrasah student drowns, 2 others go missing at sea in Teknaf

A madrasah scholar drowned and two other children went lacking while taking a bathe within the sea in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar this day (24 November).

The incident came about at Khonarpara Level of the Bay of Bengal beneath Sadar union in Teknaf at around 12:45pm, mentioned Teknaf Police Residing Officer-in-Payment (OC) Mohammad Gias Uddin.

The deceased modified into once identified as Nur Kamal, 10, son of Saddam Hossain from Ward No-5 at Khonkarpara within the characteristic. The 2 who went lacking had been identified as Mohammad Babul, 10, son of Korban Ali, and Monjurul Islam, 12, son of Md Nojir Ahmed.

Quoting locals, OC Gias mentioned, “Around 10-15 children went to play on the Sadar union’s Seaside Level at around 12pm.

“At one level, the children went for a bathe on the sea when three of them went adrift by the high tide. Hearing shouts of the children, locals recovered Kamal’s physique while two others went lacking.”

The OC extra mentioned police reached the gap after listening to the news and urged the Fire Provider in regards to the incident.

“Police, Fire Provider and local fishermen are hunting for the lacking children. The physique of the deceased has been handed over to his household,” mentioned the police respectable.
