Lakshmipur students demand justice for mass uprising victims, proper treatment for injured

The Anti-discrimination Student Movement in Lakshmipur today (21 November) staged a demonstration demanding justice for the victims of the mass uprising and ensuring proper medical treatment for the injured.

Till 2pm, the students took position on the Lakshmipur-Dhaka highway in front of the district collector’s office, reports our correspondent.

During this time, they blocked the Lakshmipur-Chowmohani-Dhaka road, Lakshmipur-Raypur road, and Lakshmipur-Ramgati road, causing significant traffic congestion and public inconvenience.

The families of martyrs who were killed in Lakshmipur on 4 August also participated in the protest.

The students claimed three months have passed since the mass uprising, but the state has not taken any responsibility for the treatment of those injured in the revolution. As a result, the families of the injured in Lakshmipur, are unable to afford their medical expenses.

They also demanded arrest of those responsible for killing the students during the movement within the next three days.
