Japanese organisation Nihon Hidankyo wins 2024 Nobel Peace Prize for efforts against nuclear weapons

Japanese organisation Nihon Hidankyo, a grassroots scramble of atomic bomb survivors from Hiroshima and Nagasaki, most continuously identified as Hibakusha, received the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday.

“Hibakusha is receiving the Peace Prize for its efforts to discontinue a world free of nuclear weapons and for demonstrating by technique of leer testimony that nuclear weapons must never be ancient again,” the Norwegian Nobel Committee acknowledged in its quotation.
