The Israeli military mentioned Monday its forces “eliminated” Hamas’s leader in Lebanon, because it continued to target Iran-backed militant teams within the neighbouring country.

“In a single day … the IAF (air power) struck and eliminated the terrorist Fatah Sharif, head of the Lebanon branch within the Hamas terrorist organisation,” the navy mentioned in an announcement.
