ISACA Dhaka chapter celebrates 6th annual community day

ISACA Dhaka chapter successfully hosted its sixth annual community day on Sunday (5 October), with two major impactful activities, an awareness walk and a street clean up, as part of its ongoing commitment to social responsibility and community engagement. 

The event began with an inspiring awareness walk, where Dhaka chapter board members, volunteers and members of the ISACA Dhaka chapter joined forces to raise awareness on “ISACA making a positive impact in the Global IT Community: empowering professionals through innovation, integrity and Lifelong Learning,” reads a press release.

The walk covered key locations in the city with a banner and engaged with pedestrians to promote the event’s theme.

Following the walk, participants took part in a street clean-up initiative, armed with gloves, garbage bags and a collective spirit, ensuring a cleaner, healthier environment. This initiative not only enhanced the cleanliness of the neighbourhood but also severed as a reminder of the power of collective community action. 

To make the event more glorious, Sarah Ahmad Abedin, ex-president of ISACA Washington DC, USA chapter, joined with Dhaka chapter and participated in the above events. Sarah Ahmed was overwhelmed to see the activities of ISACA Dhaka chapter and expressed her intention to work with this chapter in future. 

Speaking about the event, Mohammad Iqbal Hossain, chapter president, said, “ISACA community day is an opportunity for us to give back to the society and showcase the positive impact we can create.” 

Mohammad Mazharul Haque, director of communication, played the role of team lead of this Community Day event by coordinating with ISACA HQ to make the event successful. “ISACA has always been about more than just certifications and best practices. It’s about inspiring others by leading with action, by stepping outside our day-to-day routines to focus on something bigger,” he said.
