KM Rezaul Hasanat, chairman and CEO of Viyellatex Group and chairman of Midland Power has been elected as the president of Bangladesh Independent Power Producers Association for the next two years.
Rezaul Hasanat has also served as former vice-president of BIPPA, reads a press release today (17 December).
His predecessor Faisal Khan, managing director of Summit Group welcomed him and newly elected Board of Directors.
Other newly elected directors of BIPPA are: Gulam Rabbani Chowdhury (vice-president, Finance), Navidul Huq, (vice-president), Abu Bakar Siddique Ali Chowdhury, (vice-president), ANM Tariqur Rashid, Faisal Ahmed Chowdhury, Md Reaz Uddin, Mostafa Moin, Md Rubyet Tanvir, Mohammad Shamim Reza Khan and Aniqa Haque.
It is an honour to lead an association that has been vital to the economic growth and development of Bangladesh. BIPPA member companies have made significant investments in the power sector and supply almost 50% of the electricity in the National Grid.
BIPPA will focus on energy efficiency and utilisation to supply uninterrupted electricity to every household and industry in Bangladesh.
