Former MP Fazle Karim placed on 2-day remand

A Chattogram court today (24 September) placed former member of parliament ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury on a two-day remand in a case filed over vandalism of the Muniriya Juba Tablig Committee office at Raujan in Chattogram.

Chattogram Judicial Magistrate Nurul Harun passed the order this morning, said Court inspector Zakir Hossain Mahmud.

The case, filed on 23 August, accuses 68 individuals, including Fazle Karim Chowdhury and his son Faraz Karim Chowdhury. The case was filed by Muhammad Alauddin, organising secretary of the Muniriya Juba Tablig Committee.

The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested Fazle Karim Chowdhury on 12 September while he was allegedly attempting to flee to India illegally from Gazirbazar area of Akhaura in Brahmanbaria.
