Former army chief Aziz’s 2 brothers’ 4 NIDs cancelled

The Election Commission (EC) has cancelled four Nationwide Identity Cards (NIDs) belonging to extinct military chief Overall Aziz Ahmed’s brothers, Haris Ahmed and Joseph Ahmed, attributable to irregularities.

EC Secretary Shafiul Azim confirmed the topic this day (24 September).

“They [Haris and Joseph] purchased four NIDs – two each – with out following the honest principles. In accordance with our investigation and guidelines, these NIDs had been blocked,” mentioned Azim.

“In consequence, Haris and Joseph will not be in a position to avail any advantages related with NIDs in Bangladesh,” he added.

EC’s Director of Public Family, Md Shariful Alam, also confirmed the cancellation of the NIDs issued to Haris Ahmed and Joseph Ahmed.
