Election Commission gets 4 new committees

The Election Rate (EC) has fashioned four novel committees led by its four commissioners to formulate and give advice on lots of procedure of its operation.

The four committees were fashioned as per sub-rule 2 of rule 3 of the Election Rate Principles of Course of, 2010, and 4 separate gazette notifications were issued on this regard on 5 December.

Of the four committees, Election Commissioner Abdur Rahmanel Masud will head eight-member ‘Regulations and Principles Reform Committee’. One of the most most important jobs of this committee will likely be to examine the entire felony guidelines and rules of the Election Rate Secretariat, including the novel electoral felony guidelines and agree with tricks about to make certain their compatibility and consistency with the structure.

Election Commissioner Tahmida Ahmad will head 9-member ‘Appointment, Promotion, Administrative Reform, Rearrangement and Skill Pattern Committee’.

Election Commissioner Md Anwarul Islam Sarker will head the six-member ‘Committee on Redrawing Boundaries, Registration of Political Parties, Preparation of Nationwide and Local Authorities Body Elections, Environment up Polling Stations, Making ready and Monitoring Panel of the Balloting Officers and Discussion at the Beneficiary Level’.

Election Commissioner Brig Gen (retd) Abdul Fazal Md Sanaullah will head the ten-member ‘Committee on Nationwide Id Card, Voter List and Application of Records Skills in Election Administration’.

Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin and 4 election commissioners took oath on 24 November. Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed administered the oath of station of job to the CEC and ECs at the Supreme Courtroom (SC) Judges’ Lounge.

Earlier on 21 November, President Mohammed Shahabuddin appointed oldschool secretary AMM Nasir Uddin as the novel CEC and 4 others as election commissioners below portion 118 (1) of the structure.
