The Ministry of Education has ordered a converse stop to hill slicing in some unspecified time in the future of the implementation of the “Further Vogue of Comilla University” challenge.
It also directed for replanting bushes in the affected areas and submitting a document on environmental compliance in some unspecified time in the future of the reach work.
This instruction came following a letter issued on 15 October by Syeda Rizwana Hasan, adviser for Ambiance, Wooded space, and Climate Exchange.
The letter highlighted that vogue activities in the Lalmai Hill assign of Cumilla Sadar South had been finished with out the mandatory approval from the Division of Ambiance and violating the Bangladesh Ambiance Conservation Act, 1995.
The letter also warned that such actions below a govt challenge assign a unpleasant precedent for non-public or individual projects.
It emphasised that hills, as precious pure resources, can’t be restored as soon as destroyed. Lalmai Hill, in particular, holds nationwide heritage and archaeological significance, which needs to be preserved.
The directives, signed by Ahmed Shibli, deputy secretary of the Secondary and Bigger Education Division, became as soon as issued on 27 November to substantiate compliance with environmental laws.
