Professor Nakib Muhammad Nasrullah has been appointed as the 14th Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia.
He was appointed upon approval by President Muhammed Shahabuddin, who is also the chancellor of the university, under Section 10 (1) of the Islamic University Act-1980, according to a gazette notification signed by the ministry’s deputy secretary Shahinur Rahman confirmed.
Prof Nakib Nasrullah previously served as an Associate Professor of the Law Department of Islamic University, Kushtia and later joined the Law Department of Dhaka University. He was a full-time professor there.
Besides, Prof Nakib holds a PhD in International Investment Law from Macquarie University, Australia and has earned numerous scholarships, including the International Macquarie University Research Excellence Scholarship (IMQRES).
He will replace Professor Dr Shaikh Abdus Salam, who resigned from the post of IU VC on August 8.
