DNCC declares ‘Silent Zone’ around Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport

The Dhaka North Metropolis Company (DNCC) has designated a 1.5km radius around Hazrat Shahjalal World Airport as a “Restful Zone” to manipulate noise pollution.

The official announcement used to be made by DNCC Public Household Officer Mokbul Hossain today time morning (29 September).

The designated zone stretches from Scholastica College to Lodge Le Méridien, covering both the northern and southern sides of the airport.

This decision aligns with Rule 4 of the Noise Air pollution Adjust Concepts, 2006, and aims to lower noise ranges within the vicinity of the airport. The law will come into attain starting 1 October.
