DMP arrest two AL leaders for allegedly attacking protesters during student movement in Mirpur

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) receive arrested two Awami League leaders from Dhaka’s Mirpur for allegedly attacking protesters for the length of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in July and August.

A crew of Rupnagar Police Put arrested Gofur Mollah, vice president of Rupnagar Awami League, with arms in his possession from his home in Dhaka North’s Rupnagar save at spherical 3:30am last evening (3 October), said Mirpur Police.

Besides, Paltan Awami League President and Ward-13 Councilor Md Enamul Haque Abul used to be arrested by a crew of Detective Division police of DMP.

Gofur Mollah has been arrested in a wreck case filed by Samrat Howlader, cousin of Shamim Hawlader who used to be killed for the length of an attack on protesters in Mirpur-10 adjacent most predominant highway by members of the Awami League and its affiliated organisations on 20 July afternoon, DMP’s Mirpur Division Deputy Commissioner Maksudur Rahman said in a press briefing this evening (3 October).

“At some point soon of the investigation in the case, diagnosis of video photos has revealed Gofur’s involvement in the assaults,” said the DMP unswerving.

DMP Deputy Commissioner Maksudur also said Gofur Mollah bought a filled with 100 rounds of bullets – 50 in 2001, 25 in 2006 and 25 in 2013 – for a shotgun licensed under his title.

“Rupnagar Police recovered one shotgun, eight bullets and one worn cartridge from his possession for the length of the arrest. He may maybe maybe likely no longer give any ample reply regarding the closing 92 bullets, and he did no longer file a standard diary with the police regarding the use or loss of the bullets.

“Within the initial interrogation, he admitted that the 92 bullets had been worn for the length of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.”

Referring to Enamul’s arrest, Maksudur said he used to be apprehended in a case filed over the death of Emon Halder Akash, who used to be killed for the length of an attack by members of AL and its affiliates on protesters end to the Favorite Diagnostic Centre in the ragged Mirpur-10 Bus Stand on 4 August.
