A deputy secretary of the education ministry lost his life in a road accident in Barishal today (6 December).
The deceased, Farhad Hossain, suffered severe injuries when a speedy three-wheeler, locally known as ‘Mahindra Tempu, he was riding in overturned on Barishal-Muladi road in the evening, said police.
“He succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital,” said Muladi Upazila Health officer Dr Saidur Rahman.
He was heading for Charlaxmipur’s Nandirbazar to attend a mehfil, said Muladi Police Station Officer-in-Charge Zahirul Islam.
Farhad, son of Abdul Quader, was a resident of Charlaxmipur village in Muladi.
Three other passengers, who were in the vehicle at the time of the accident, also suffered injuries.
