Chattogram Metropolis Company Mayor Shahadat Hossain has presented plans to invent playgrounds and youngsters’s parks in all 41 wards to offer children with satisfied and healthy childhoods.
He expressed the will to make Feroz Shah and Bahurupi Fields into leisure areas, enabling youth to engage in physical actions and motivate their psychological and physical health.
To kickstart these initiatives, the mayor laid the foundation stone for 3 pattern initiatives this day (11 December).
The initiatives encompass the Maheshkhal Beautification Project in Ward 26 with a price range of Tk2.78 crore, the Feroz Shah Flooring Construction and Beautification Project in Ward 9 with a Tk3.02 crore price range, and the Bahurupi Flooring Construction and Beautification Project in Ward 11 with a price range of Tk2.74 crore.
Talking on the occasion, the mayor said, “On behalf of the city corporation, I am initiating quite numerous initiatives to expand healthy game alternatives for voters. Moreover, I if truth be told have reached out to other govt companies for land allocations.”
He also said that steps have also been taken to reopen Agrabad Shishu Park, Zia Shishu Park, and the Bahaddarhat Independence Complex to the public.
The mayor highlighted his overarching aim, pronouncing, “Our well-known aim is to make Chattogram a green city. The Maheshkhal Beautification Project will introduce green areas and walkways along the canal, growing a leisure inform for voters.”
Addressing the city’s persistent waterlogging considerations, the mayor said, “Waterlogging is a longstanding discipline brought on by unclean canals and unplanned pattern. We’re addressing this by deepening canals, ensuring traditional cleaning, and raising public awareness. Improved coordination between the CDA and the city corporation will seemingly be needed to make canal excavation efforts more efficient.”
