Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed today (26 November) presented the “Supreme Court Annual Report 2023” to President Mohammed Shahabuddin at Bangabhaban, highlighting the judiciary’s progress and challenges.
Following the meeting, the president’s Press Secretary Joynal Abedin briefed reporters, sharing insights into the discussions between the chief justice and the president.
The chief justice informed the president about key aspects of the report, including the formation of the Supreme Judicial Council.
He also provided updates on the overall activities and performance of the Supreme Court, emphasizing its efforts to enhance judicial efficiency and accessibility.
President Shahabuddin expressed satisfaction with the Supreme Court’s achievements, calling it the “last hope for justice seekers.”
He commended the judiciary for its progress under the leadership of Chief Justice Refaat Ahmed and voiced optimism that the judiciary would continue to ensure timely justice for citizens.
Senior Secretary of the President’s Office Nasimul Gani, Press Secretary Joynal Abedin, and Justice Md. Ashfaqul Islam of the Appellate Division were also present during the meeting.
