CHT blockade underway for second day in Rangamati

A 72-hour blockade is currently underway within the three hill districts, alongside side Rangamati, for the 2nd consecutive day in allege of attacks on indigenous communities.

No lengthy-haul bus left Rangamati this morning (22 September), and inter-district bus services had been also suspended.

The markets and searching centres of Rangamati town had been closed too, whereas the auto-rickshaws and human haulers circling the city had been also no longer viewed.

Around 11am, some picketers had been viewed on the Doyel Chattar space shut to Rangmati’s musty Bus Stand. All of them had been transport workers, who had been viewed turning assist the autos which tried to pass the distance.

Contacted, Not fresh Secretary of Rangamati District CNG-Autorickshaw Workers’ Union and Drivers’ Welfare Association Md Mizanur Rahman Babu mentioned, “Now we procure told the advisers about our demands. Even when they’ve given us assurance, the blockade will continue except the protection of our autos and workers is not any longer ensured.”
