The body of Osman Sikder, a Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) office assistant at Chattogram’s Shah Amanat International Airport, was recovered from a link road near the airport in the port city’s Patenga today (12 December), police said.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Patenga Police Station Mahfuzur said that the body was sent to Chittagong Medical College morgue after post-mortem.
“Following identification by family members and completion of legal procedures, the body was handed over to them. A murder case will be filed by the family,” the OC added.
Osman’s elder brother Emran Sikder, Hefazat-e-Islam Hathazari unit’s general secretary, alleged that Osman was abducted and murdered due to a prior dispute.
“There is a stick injury on his head, along with marks of injuries all over his body. A group of seven to eight people abducted Osman from his house around 3am yesterday,” Emran told a media briefing.
