The BNP has recommended reshuffling officials in different positions of the public administration three months before every national election.
The party’s Public Administration Reform Committee has also proposed preparing a “fit list” for deputy commissioners (DCs) of the districts and transferring employees who have held the same post for extended periods, fostering syndicates.
The BNP chairperson’s Advisory Council member Ismail Zabihullah submitted the proposal today (15 December) to the senior secretary of the public administration ministry, emphasising structural reforms to ensure a depoliticised and efficient administration.
Ismail said, “The fascist associates of the Awami League must be removed from the administration. Recruitment in the administration should be based on merit, not political affiliation. Officials who have been stationed in the same place for years should be transferred.”
The proposal also calls for identifying and taking action against officials who have been secretly supporting the previous government for personal gain.
