Biman flight makes emergency landing in Pakistan after passenger falls ill

A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight made an emergency landing at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport today (4 December) after a passenger fell ill during its journey from Jeddah to Chattogram.

Flight BG-136, which departed from Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport at 11:35 PM local time (2:35 AM BST), was scheduled to land at the Shah Amanat International Airport at 9:00am, Engineer Mohammad Ibrahim Khalil, Public Relations Officer at Chattogram airport said.

However, the flight was diverted to Karachi, where it landed at 5:16am after a passenger named Farzana became unwell mid-flight, he added.

The sick passenger and her infant were disembarked at Karachi Airport for medical assistance.

The flight resumed its journey to Chattogram and arrived at Shah Amanat International Airport around 1pm, approximately eight hours behind schedule. The final destination for the disembarked passengers was Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
