As many as 46 folks, including 37 childhood, died in separate incidents of drowning across Bihar on the festival of ‘Jitiya’ or ‘Jivitputrika’ over the closing 24 hours, a authorities first price stated.
The incidents of drowning were reported from East and West Champaran, Aurangabad, Kaimur, Buxar, Siwan, Rohtas, Saran, Patna, Vaishali, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, Gopalganj and Arwal districts.
“To this level, 43 bodies have been fished out. The household members of the victims will most certainly be given ₹4 lakh ex-gratia. Eight of them have already been disbursed,” a catastrophe administration department (DMD) first price stated.
DMD has pressed diverse teams of the Nationwide Catastrophe Response Power (NDRF) and Disclose Catastrophe Response Power (SDRF) for search and rescue operations.

Eight childhood drowned in Aurangabad district, four at Itahat village under Baruna police location residence and one other four at Kushaha village of Madanpur police location.

Four incidents of drowning were reported on Wednesday night from Amnabad village under Bihta police location residence of rural Patna and 5 people, including two boys, drowned in Daudpur, Manjhi, Taraiya and Marhaura police location areas of Saran district.
“The incidents took position when the victims, alongside with their household members, went for a holy dip within the water bodies,” Aurangabad District Justice of the Peace Srikant Shastri stated.
