Bank account of former minister Qamrul Islam frozen

The Bangladesh Monetary Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has directed banks to freeze all accounts of historical food minister Qamrul Islam.

The BFIU despatched a letter to banks nowadays (21 November) ordering them to freeze any accounts below his name or those linked to connected establishments for the subsequent 30 days.

The fashioned minister used to be arrested by police from a dwelling in Uttara’s Sector-12 on Monday (18 November). The following day, he used to be placed on an eight-day remand in a case lodged over the ruin of dealer Abdul Wadud.
