The government will take immediate action against those involved in mob justice and no extrajudicial killing will be allowed, Law Affairs Adviser Asif Nazrul said today (19 September).
“The incident in Dhaka University has shocked us all. Action has already been taken. We will take whatever steps necessary to prevent such incidents,” he said responding to a question at a media briefing at Foreign Service Academy after a meeting
Mentioning that some people have already been arrested, he said, “Any kind of mob justice, taking the law into one’s own hands will not be accepted in Bangladesh.
“Extrajudicial killings will not be accepted in any way. The government will take immediate action. Maximum punishment will be ensured by the law, investigation and trial.”
