Primary and Mass Education Affairs Adviser Professor Dr Bidhan Ranjan Roy Podder today underscored the need for reforming people’s mindset positively before reforming the constitution or others.
“If people are not reformed, there will be no benefit in reforming the constitution or any other issues,” he said while addressing a seminar on “Role of Libraries in State Reform” organised by Sammilito Pathagar Andolan in the auditorium of Microbiology Department of Dhaka University as the chief guest.
President of Sammilito Pathagar Andolan Abdus Sattar Khan presided over the seminar.
Jatiya Grantha Kendro Director Afsana Begum, writer Shafiq Islam, writer and publisher Feroz Ahmed, vice president of Sammilito Pathagar Andolan Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain also spoke.
Adviser Bidhan said, “Ehe state can be reformed through reformation of the people. In that case, libraries can reform people as reading books helps to flourish thinking and imagination and create empathy.”
