Abdur Rashid appointed as cabinet secretary

The government today (8 October) appointed Sheikh Abdur Rashid as the cabinet secretary for the next two years on a contractual basis.

A gazette notification has been issued in this regard, signed by Nilufa Yeasmin, senior assistant secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration.

Rashid replaces incumbent cabinet secretary Md Mahbub Hossain.

Rashid’s two-year service will be counted from 14 October or the day when he will join, reads the notification.

He was appointed as per Section-49 of the Public Service Act 2018, it added.

Earlier on 17 August, the government appointed Rashid, a retired officer, as the senior secretary of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education for two years on a contractual basis.
