At the least 26 warring parties had been killed Sunday as Turkish-backed Syrian warring parties launched an offensive on the northern Manbij spot, days after seizing a Kurdish-held enclave.
The pro-Turkey warring parties had already retaken the Kurdish-held Tal Rifaat enclave final week, days after Islamist-led rebels swooped into government-held areas, snatching key cities sooner than reaching Damascus on Sunday.
“Genuine-Turkish factions… seized substantial districts of Manbij metropolis in the eastern Aleppo geographical region, after violent clashes with the Manbij Defense power Council,” the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights war visual show unit acknowledged.
The Council is affiliated with the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) that act as a de facto military for the Kurdish administration that controls swathes of Syria’s northeast.
“The clashes killed nine pro-Turkish warring parties and no longer no longer up to 17 Manbij Defense power Council” warring parties, acknowledged the Observatory, which relies on a community of sources inside Syria.
The US-backed SDF also reported “fierce clashes”, announcing the militia councils in Manbij and in Al-Bab had been “dealing qualitative blows” to Turkish-backed warring parties.
The Ankara-backed factions acknowledged they’d “taken sustain watch over of the metropolis of Manbij in the eastern geographical region of Aleppo after fierce battles”, in a press open on their Telegram channel.
