2.31 lakh Indian eggs arrive via Benapole at Tk7.5 per piece

In a dispute to stabilise the rising costs of eggs, the authorities has imported about 2.31 lakh eggs from India thru the Benapole land port in Jashore.

“The third consignment of 231,840 eggs arrived on the port on the novel time [6 October], ” Masudur Rahman, earnings officer on the Customs Check Post Cargo Branch, told The Change Usual.

He stated the eggs would be cleared from the port as rapidly as imaginable after inspection.

Earlier on 9 September, a total of 231,840 items of Indian eggs entered the land port and within the predominant consignment on 5 November final 365 days, 61,950 eggs were imported.

Othello Chowdhury, deputy commissioner of Benapole Customs Home, stated, “Per the invoice, the total fee of the imported eggs was $9,969 and every dozen eggs fee $0.56.

“Which methodology each and every egg fee Tk5.70 and after addition of 33% customs accountability the import fee stands at roughly Tk7.5 per egg.”

Per port officers, a Dhaka-based totally totally company named HydroLand Resolution has imported these eggs. The eggs were exported by an Indian company named Sri Lakshmi Enterprises.

C&F agent Ratul Worldwide has submitted documents to the Benapole Customs Home on behalf of the importer to definite the egg consignment.

About the egg inspection, Binoy Krishna Mandal, an reliable of the Benapole Cattle Division, told TBS, “We have purchased the documents from the importer.
